Do you mind if I tell you a little story about that? Of course you don't, it's the internet.
Originally, I uploaded in segments through a convoluted DVD-to-PC transfer method using the audio/video wires of my Xbox (later Xbox 360), a blue audio/video-plug-holes-on-one-end-and-USB-plug-on-the-other contraption where the audio/video plugs really didn't go firmly inside, and Windows Movie Maker. I had to babysit the program in real time, which meant I couldn't use anything else on the computer, couldn't move for fear of accidentally severing the tenuous audio/video plug connections, and had to wait a very long time for the files to be created. The whole thing got me depressed in the end, and as such I stopped after putting up an episode of Monopoly (yes, it was a game show, and not just in the States) for Christmas 2010.
In June of this year, my brother told me about Magic DVD Ripper, an easy-to-use/low-PC-intensity program that rips video files straight from DVDs into whatever format you want, or simply copies discs in whole or part. I downloaded the trial, and quickly realized that this could get me back to uploading...so I did, buying the full version shortly after the trial ran out.
(Sorry if this sounds like one of those inane infomercial testimonies you see at 4:00 in the morning after you fell asleep watching Jay Leno.
